We are delighted to be working with a market leading organisation, who for more than 60 years has maintained consistent global growth within environmental, industrial and building research and consultancy.

They are recruiting an 'IT Manager' to manage thier IT department in Bracknell. This 'IT Manager' role with be responsible for managing the day to day of the company's IT infrastructure, hardware and software. You will also have responsibility for budget control and optimising the cost effectiveness of IT and Telecoms provisions.


The main responsibilities of the 'IT Manager' role:

  • Develop business plans for IT & Telecoms to support the company's strategy and proposing an implementation strategy with consideration of the business needs and goals.
  • Management of the operational and financial aspects of IT services with consideration to growth and cost.
  • Oversee day to day delivery of all IT & Telecoms services, optimising both staff and equipment resources.
  • Monitoring the company's IT systems to ensure that they are protected from attacks and failures.
  • Creating and implement new IT policies and procedures, whilst reviewing and developing existing policies.
  • Enable effective management of the disaster recovery plans to ensure regular reviews and testing.
  • Provide expert advice to the business for all the areas of IT and Telecoms
  • Managing a team and overseeing the coaching and mentoring to support their development


The 'IT Manager' will possess the following Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong Technical management and understanding of IT & Telecoms systems
  • Sound knowledge and experience of supporting Microsoft Office 365
  • Knowledge and experience of operating Windows Server Technology and experience in supporting Microsoft SQL server
  • Strong project management experience and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of managing IT budgets and financial management of IT departments.
  • Good knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Ideally degree or equivalent technical experience including professional accreditation

Hosting and Infrastructure Consultant Key Skills:

  • 5+ years system admin experience within a 'Windows Enterprise' environment, ideally as a 'Technical Consultant' or a 'Solutions Architect' working on an 'On-Premise infrastructure or cloud solutions.
  • You will have advanced knowledge of DHCP, DNS, GPO etc...
  • A great problem solver who has a methodical and logical approach alongside a functional understanding of; LAN switching, Enterprise storage, Hyper V, deployment and migration to Azure, AWS etc...
  • Recent experience in designing multi-vendor 'Enterprise Datacentre and Cloud solutions with the extra expertise of being able to cross platform to hybrid cloud environments.
  • Excellent communication essential.

The 'Hosting and Infrastructure' role works in collaboration with internal teams, stakeholders and customers.

At the start of the customer engagement, you would be involved with the Pre sales (understanding feasibility), provide Technical consultancy to customers, Technical support to the operational frontline teams, defining strategy all the way through to Post Sales.

This position would suit someone who has established themselves as a 'Technical go to person' in a Managed Services businesses, in a similar role or who is on their way up in their career with a minimum of 5 years relevant exposure.
